01
Who we are
This website is operated by USA Books Publishing (“USA Books Publishing,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We provide professional publishing services for authors, including editorial, design, production, and distribution setup.
For privacy questions, we are the controller of personal information collected through this website. You can reach us at hello@usabookspublishing.com or +1 (888) 414-2601. Our operations are based in the United States.
02
Scope
This policy applies to personal information we collect when you:
- Visit or browse this website
- Submit a Get Started, contact, pricing, or service inquiry form
- Email, call, or message our team
- Request a quote or begin a publishing project
It does not cover websites, retailers, or tools we do not control, such as Amazon, Ingram, or payment processors you may use after a contract is signed. Those services have their own privacy policies.
03
Information we collect
Information you provide
Depending on how you contact us, this may include:
- Name and contact details (email address and phone number, including country calling code)
- Messages about your book, genre, word count, timeline, or selected plan
- Consent records when you accept this policy on a form
- Manuscript files, cover files, or other project materials you later send by email or a shared workspace
- Billing and contract details if you become a client (collected under a separate service agreement)
Information collected automatically
- IP address, approximate location (country or region), browser type, device type, and referring page
- Date and time of visits and form submissions
- Country inferred from your IP address or timezone so the phone field can show the matching flag and dialing code
- Cookie and similar identifiers, as described in the cookies section below
Information we do not collect as a rule
We do not require Social Security numbers, payment-card numbers, or government IDs on this website. Payment, if any, is handled through a secure processor after you agree to a written scope of work.
04
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to inquiries and connect you with a publishing expert
- Prepare quotes, recommend a package, and follow up on Get Started requests
- Format the phone field for your country and reduce incomplete or invalid numbers
- Deliver contracted editorial, design, production, and distribution-setup services
- Operate, secure, and improve the website
- Comply with law, prevent fraud or abuse, and protect our rights
- Send service messages about a request you already made (we do not sell mailing lists)
We do not use your manuscript to train public AI models or to market other authors’ books without your permission.
05
Legal bases
If you are in a jurisdiction that requires a legal basis (including the EEA, UK, or Switzerland), we process information on one or more of these bases:
- Consent, when you submit a form and accept this policy, or when you allow non-essential cookies
- Steps prior to a contract, when you ask for a quote or publishing consult
- Performance of a contract, when we produce or distribute a book under a signed agreement
- Legitimate interests, such as securing the site, preventing spam, and improving our services, balanced against your rights
- Legal obligation, when we must keep records for tax, accounting, or law-enforcement requests
06
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only as needed with:
- Service providers who host the website, process email, store files, or provide analytics, under instructions to use the data only for our purposes
- Production partners such as editors, designers, narrators, printers, and distributors, only to the extent required to deliver a project you have requested
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) under confidentiality
- Authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect someone from serious harm
- A successor if we merge, reorganize, or transfer relevant business assets, in which case this policy will still apply until you are notified of a change
Anyone who handles a manuscript for us is expected to keep it confidential and not to use it for their own purposes.
07
International transfers
We are based in the United States. If you contact us from another country, your information will be processed in the United States and may be processed in other countries where our vendors operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your own.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as contractual clauses with vendors. You may contact us for more detail about the safeguards that apply to your information.
08
Retention
We keep inquiry records long enough to respond, avoid duplicate follow-ups, and meet legal or accounting duties. Typical periods:
- Website leads and Get Started forms: generally up to 24 months after last contact, unless you ask us to delete sooner and we are not required to keep the record
- Client project files: for the life of the engagement and a reasonable period afterward for reprints, corrections, and legal hold
- Security and server logs: for a shorter operational period unless needed to investigate an incident
When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it. Backup copies may persist for a limited time until they rotate out.
09
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including HTTPS, restricted staff access, and secure payment handling by third-party processors when a project is billed.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please do not send passwords or payment-card numbers through the website forms. If you believe your information was compromised in connection with our services, email hello@usabookspublishing.com promptly.
10
Cookies and similar technologies
This section is our cookie policy. Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our providers may use:
- Strictly necessary cookies to run the site, keep a session, and protect forms from spam
- Preference cookies to remember choices such as a closed banner, where used
- Analytics cookies to understand which pages are used and how visitors arrive, in aggregate
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop forms from working correctly. Analytics tools may set their own cookies; their policies apply to that processing.
We do not use cookies to build a marketing profile to sell to third parties.
11
Children
This website is intended for adults who want to publish a book. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the applicable age).
If you believe a child submitted information to us, contact hello@usabookspublishing.com and we will delete it. Publishing a children’s book is a service for the adult author or rights holder, not a service directed at the child reader.
12
Your rights
Subject to local law, you may request to:
Access
Receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Correct
Fix inaccurate or incomplete contact details.
Delete
Ask us to erase an inquiry, subject to records we must keep.
Restrict or object
Limit certain processing, including marketing follow-up you no longer want.
Portability
Receive information you provided in a commonly used format, where applicable.
Withdraw consent
Stop optional processing that was based on consent, without affecting prior lawful use.
To exercise these rights, email hello@usabookspublishing.com with the subject line “Privacy request.” We may need to verify it is you before we act. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.

California privacy notice
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you additional rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising.
In the past 12 months we have collected the categories described in this policy (identifiers such as name, email, and phone; commercial information about a requested publishing package; internet activity on this site; and geolocation at a coarse country level for the phone field). We collect this information from you and from your device.
We use it for the business purposes listed above. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. We do not sell personal information for money. We do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know are under 16.
Authorized agents may submit a request if they provide proof of authorization. We will not discriminate against you for exercising CCPA rights.
14
Do not sell or share
USA Books Publishing does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that practice changes, we will update this policy and provide a clear opt-out.
If you use a browser opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control, we will honor it for this website to the extent required by law.
15
Third-party sites
Our site may link to retailers, social networks, maps, or other resources. Those destinations are not covered by this policy. Review their privacy statements before you provide information there.
16
Changes
We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the website after an update means you have read the revised policy. If a change requires consent, we will ask for it.
